So you would like to try water-skiing?

Here is the answer

The club open to all BFG personnel, families and friends.

Every Sunday from Mid May to Mid September

We run the club every Sunday morning,  from mid  May  until  mid September at the cable ski lake at Stemmen between Rinteln and Vlotho.  Start time is usually 10.00 during May and September  and 09.30 in June, July and August - telephone for details:

Phone Bryan on;

Rinteln (05751 917567)

or  0171 7989841

We can provide instruction and almost guarantee success!!!

It is open to all ages and children as young as eight have taken to it like ducks to water and mothers and grandmothers have been known to star.

You do need to be able to swim, but don't need to be a Michael Phelps as the buoyancy aid will have you bobbing around like a cork.

You don't need to be a German speaker.

The session is run exclusively for us but if you wish to bring your German friend along you are welcome to do so.

What does it cost?

15 Euros for two hours skiing
(plus 3 Euros for a wetsuit- optional)

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT IF THE CLUB IS GOING TO SURVIVE

To ski in a public session would cost you more and there could be a lot more people around.

We have a number of pieces of equipment that belong to the club and the centre has a variety of skis and equipment for our use. We have a selection of club shirts, sweatshirts and caps for sale (see Club Gear)

So if you fancy having a go at wakeboarding or just fancy trying something new, we are the people to see.

We recommend that you use a wetsuit and you can either bring your own or hire one from the centre  for €3.

In the summer the place is ideal for a day out, with a cafe, a Schnell Imbiss, crazy Golf and a children's playground.

If you want to make a weekend of it there is a campsite with good facilities nearby as well. (see Links and FAQs)

We are a non-profit making club of like minded enthusiasts who would like to encourage and help others to participate and learn the sport.

Any money we make gets ploughed back into the club to buy equipment, (we have purchased numerous club kneeboards and wakeboards).

The centre was rebuilt a few years ago after a serious fire and boasts a good shop and snack bar.    The centre also welcomes units/squadrons during the week as well but do let them know if you want to bring a large group.  The contact phone number for the centre is 05755 444
